This week is National Eczema Week, initiated by The National Eczema Society to inform and support people with eczema
Eczema is a skin condition where patches of skin become dry and scaly, irritated and usually very itchy. It is very common, particularly in babies and young children but some people have it throughout their lives. Living with eczema can be miserable – as well as being uncomfortable, the constant itching and irritation can affect sleep and self-confidence.
The Cooden Medical Group has a range of treatments for patients with eczema, including LED phototherapy, which uses ultraviolet light. This is usually reserved for severe cases or when creams and ointments haven’t worked.
