VENEFIT CLOSUREFAST
RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION

venefit bexhill

This minimally invasive procedure replaces traditional vein stripping and laser treatment offering a better outcome with fewer complications. It is also less painful, creates less bruising and offers no downtime.

Venefit / ClosureFast RF Ablation is a good option for patients with more superficially sited varicose veins in their legs, and for those who may otherwise be non-ideal candidates for endovenous laser surgery due to the risk of thermal skin injury. This procedure addresses the underlying cause of varicose veins and also treats the large straight vessels that are usually the source of symptoms related to venous reflux disease.

This safe and effective treatment and is performed on a ‘walk-in walk-out’ basis, under local anaesthetic and in the comfort of our state of the art clinic. Because treatment with ‘closure’ is minimally invasive and is catheter-based, it results in little to no scarring.

Here at The Cooden Medical Group we offer Venefit / ClosureFast RF Ablation as either a single or bilateral leg treatment.

How does the treatment work?

We close the diseased vein by inserting a catheter and heating the wall of the vein, using temperature-controlled RF energy, causing collagen in the wall to shrink and the vein to close. After the vein is sealed shut, blood then naturally reroutes to healthy veins.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Following the procedure, a simple dressing is placed over the insertion site, and a compression stocking will need to be worn for 7-10 days. Most patients who undergo the closure procedure typically resume normal activities within a day, however we recommend that you should avoid swimming, vigorous exercise, hot baths or excessive sun for the first two weeks.

IS THIS TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Most patients experience little to no pain during the procedure. Often the only sensation is felt during delivery of anaesthetic to the leg. After the procedure you may feel some tenderness, tingling, itching or tightness in the treated leg, which is nothing to worry about and will disappear within a few weeks.

HOW SUCCESSFUL IS THIS TREATMENT?

Clinical results have been published which prove that Venefit / ClosureFast Radiofrequency Ablation is extremely successful as well as being recommended by NICE guidance.

Initial Consultation For VENEFIT CLOSUREFAST RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION

All our vein treatments require an initial, investigative consultation. We will perform a range of comprehensive diagnostic tests and scans, based on a foundation of Duplex Ultrasound Scanning, in preparation of any treatment plan. Here we will review your symptoms and exclude the likelihood of a deep vein thrombosis. Further to this, we can then create a unique treatment plan for you and accurately outline the type and cost of your procedure.
