TREATMENT FOR
FROZEN SHOULDER
Frozen Shoulder (also known as adhesive capsulitis) is an extremely painful condition that usually effects middle aged men and women although it is more common in women. It is caused by stiffness in the shoulder joint causing the tissue around your shoulder joint to become inflamed and the capsule within your shoulder joint to thicken. Frozen Shoulder may occur following shoulder surgery or trauma.
Certain medical conditions can also put you at a higher risk of developing frozen shoulder such as diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disease and Parkinson’s disease.

The symptoms that might present are - restricted movement, excruciating pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint which may worsen at night, pain that may become so unbearable that you struggle to move your shoulder and arm.
At The Cooden Medical Group we will offer an ultrasound scan if you have not already had a diagnosis but you are experiencing shoulder pain.
We use the treatment of Hydrodilatation in order to treat the shoulder. Hydrodilatation is an injection performed under ultrasound guidance so that we can ensure exact precision when injecting the combined substance of saline, steroid and an anaesthetic into the shoulder joint. The whole procedure should take no longer than 15 minutes.
Many people feel immediate relief after the procedure has been performed however for most it will make up to 6 weeks before feeling the full benefit.
Hydrodilatation is a very low risk procedure but does carry a very small risk of infection and in some cases failure to relieve the symptoms.
At The Cooden Medical Group the package price for this procedure is £350. There are no hidden charges, just a one off payment. We are also recognised by most major insurance companies, if you are insured please mention this when booking your appointment.
