Cryolipolysis – non-invasive targeted fat removal
Cryolipolysis – also known as “fat freezing” or “cool sculpting” – is a non-invasive method of permanently reducing unwanted, stubborn pockets of subcutaneous fat from the body. Fat is stored in cells usually around our middles (abdomen and back), hips, buttocks and thighs. The distribution of these fat-storing cells varies from person to person, which is why, despite diet and exercise, some people find it difficult to shift weight from their stomachs, whereas others can’t get rid of their saddlebags.
Using fat freezing technology, Cryolipolysis permanently removes a proportion of the fat storing cells from a target area. The cold–sensitive fat cells are destroyed and over the following weeks are processed by the body’s lymphatic system.
We use the medical grade Cristal device which means that just one, or two at most, treatments for each area are needed. Each treatment takes 60-70 minutes and is painless, non-invasive and safe. Unlike liposuction, there is no need for an anaesthetic and other than a reddening of the skin in the treated area – which may last an hour or so - there is no downtime.
The results become noticeable around six weeks after treatment as the fat cells break down and are eliminated.
Advantages of cryolipolysis include;
- Non-invasive, non-surgical
- No scarring or open wounds
- Low risk and no down time
- Even reduction without indentations
- Gentler than other fat reduction methods
- No need to wear a corset
